Black Watch Cruise Ship Visit Marks 2018′s First
Black Watch Cruise Ship is tonight [Jan 14] berthed at Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s making it the first cruise ship visit to Bermuda for 2018 after MS Queen Victoria and MS Queen Elizabeth cancelled their scheduled call to Bermuda also planned for today.
Black Watch is a cruise ship, currently owned and operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. According to the 2018 cruise ship schedule, the 674′ ship is expected to have just over 1000 passengers and crew. The ship arrived this afternoon and is scheduled to depart tomorrow afternoon.
“According to the 2018 Bermuda cruise ship schedule… Bermuda is expected to receive 180 cruise ship calls bringing approximately 470,000 passengers. That amounts to 19 more cruise ship calls and 53,500 more passengers in 2018, when compared with 2017,” a Government spokesperson previously said.
The ship is just beginning an around the world tour, visiting Bermuda, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, and Peru in January.
In February, the ship will visit Chile, Cruising by Pitcairn Island, Tahiti, France, New Zealand, and Australia; and in March the ship will visit Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, and India.
And to finish off the tour in April, the ship will visit Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Rome, Italy, Spain, and Southampton, UK.
