Bermuda Insurance Market Conference On Oct 11
Panelists will discuss issues ranging from Diversity & Inclusion to the views of millennials during a major insurance conference next month.
The 8th Annual Bermuda Insurance Market Conference – ‘Bermuda Affirms Its Relevance In A New [Re]Insurance Era’ – will take place on October 11 at O’Hara House, on Bermudiana Road, with the keynote speech to be delivered by Patrick Tannock, Managing Director at AXA XL and XL Bermuda Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Insurance.
In addition, there will be six panel discussions looking at:
- Diversity & Inclusion – From Talking to Execution, Can Bermuda Make This Step?
- Corporate Social Responsibility – Key Drivers for a Successful CSR agenda.
- Mergers & Acquisitions – A Future Perspective for Mergers & Acquisitions In The [Re]Insurance Industry
- Youth Panel – Insurance Industry Insights – A Millennial View From Our Future Leaders.
- Is Bermuda Still Relevant In The Global Marketplace?
- CEO Panel discussing ‘Will Bermuda Maintain Its Leadership Status as a Global Player in the [Re]insurance Market?’
The conference is being organized by the Bermuda Insurance Institute [BII] and its CEO Malcolm Butterfield said: “This is a very exciting event, drawing together top rate speakers and panelists.
“In particular, I am very pleased that we have a panel that involves young people who will give us their insights into the future of the [re]insurance industry. They are our future leaders, so their views are important.”
The list of panels and panelists are as follows:
Panel 1: Diversity & Inclusion – From Talking to Execution, Can Bermuda Make This Step? The moderator is Katherine Cupidore, of Deloitte, and the panelists will include Kirsten Beasley from Willis, and Alison Hill, of Argus.
Panel 2: Corporate Social Responsibility with moderator Toni Waterman, of Bermuda Broadcasting Company, with panelists including Craig Caldwell of Butler University, Wendy Davis Johnson of Hamilton Re and Paul Scope of Willis Towers Watson.
Panel 3: Mergers & Acquisitions – A Future Perspective for Mergers & Acquisitions In The [Re]Insurance Industry with moderator Matthew Britten of PwC, and panelists including Shannon Totten of Sompo International, Stephen Catlin former CEO of Catlin Group Ltd., and Jeff Sangster, former CFO of Validus Holdings, Ltd
Panel 4: Youth Panel – Insurance Industry Insights – A Millennial View From Our Future Leaders, moderated by Juliette Oatley-Baia, of Arch Insurance, with panelists Kyla Evans, of Marsh, David Amaro of Hamilton Re, Christina Dillas of Markel Global Re, and Martel Laws, from Mutual Insurance.
Panel 5: Is Bermuda Still Relevant In The Global Marketplace? will be moderated by Paul Koepff of Clyde & Co with panelists including Krista Doran, of Marsh and and Erica Symonds of AXA XL.
Panel 6: CEO Panel – Will Bermuda Maintain Its Leadership Status as a Global Player in the [Re]insurance Market? will be moderated by Rees Fletcher, former Chairman of Chubb Bermuda, with panelists including Brian O’Hara, of Frontstreet Advisors Ltd, Joe Rego, from Aon, Charles Thresh, from KPMG Bermuda and Michael Krefta, of Hiscox,.
