Simons Named Runner Of Week For Third Time
Bermuda’s Trey Simons — who competes for Morehouse College in Atlanta – was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference [SIAC] Male Runner of the Week for the third time this season.
The school’s announcement said, “Morehouse College cross country runner, Trey Simons [Sandy, Bermuda] earned Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference [SIAC] Male Runner of the Week for the third time this year, released by the league office on Wednesday.
“Simons helped Morehouse to win the Robert Shumake HBCU Challenge Saturday morning in Cary, N.C. by running a season personal best of 24:57.4 in the men’s 8K.
“The Maroon Tigers finished first out of 16 schools and 104 runners. Morehouse scored 93 points beating out Florida Atlantic with 104, NC A&T with 113, Benedict with 198 and St. Augustine’s with 262 for the victory.
“The Maroon Tigers will travel to Charlotte, N.C. this Friday, Oct. 12 to compete in the Queens University of Charlotte Invitational.”
