Christmas Day Party Raises Funds For BBBS
Dennie O’Connor and Jennifer Ysseldyke of Beach Boys Ltd – Tobacco Bay raised over $1000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda on Christmas Day during the event at Elbow Beach, and when they presented it, it marked the first donation of the year for the charity.
“We are very honoured to receive this donation,” said Patrina Paynter the Managing Director of BBBS, “Not only is this our first donation of 2019, but it also comes during Mentoring month which we are celebrating the entire month of January. We would like to thank the organizers for helping to start our New Year off with a bang!”
The event that draws hundreds to the beach every Christmas has been quietly supported in collaboration with Beach Boys and KBB for many years featuring lively music and a festive bar for everyone to enjoy.
The public turns out in droves to show off their Christmas spirit in true Bermudian fashion with jolly outfits and a spirit of giving.
The day after the festivities, volunteers and government workers in collaboration with Keep Bermuda Beautiful [KBB], do an excellent job clearing the beach and separating recyclables.
Mr. O’Connor said he would like to extend thanks to Pitt &Co, Goslings, Burrows Lightbourne, the Bermuda Liquor Licensing Authority, Craig “Bubbles” Darrell, DJ Rusty G, Anne Hyde of KBB and the Bermuda Police Service for playing their part in making the event a success.
