Motorcyclist Injured In Smiths Parish Crash
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a motorcycle crash on Store Hill in Smiths earlier tonight [Aug 5] that resulted in the rider being injured.
The injured rider was tended to by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel before being transported by ambulance to King Edward Memorial Hospital.
Store Hill is closed to traffic flow while police investigate the crash scene. Further details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.
Update 11.35pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:55pm Monday, August 5th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash on Store Hill in Smiths parish.
“Early information suggests that the male rider came into contact with a wall before crashing.
“He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and at last check was unconscious.
“An update on his medical condition is anticipated in due course.
“Traffic diversions are in effect while the scene is processed.
“Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.”

Bermuda please slow down and do not drive under the influence. I drive from the east every day. It is rare to see a motorcycle rider ride behind a car or another vehicle. They are constantly trying to take over on the inside or outside. They do not care if there is oncoming traffic from the opposite direction or if it is on a curve, they are constantly weaving in and out of traffic putting themselves and others at risk.
We need more of a police presence on our roads.
