Bermudian’s Film Honoured At Film Festival
An acclaimed new short from Hollywood-based Bermudian producer Bayard Outerbridge has taken one of the top awards at an international film festival which celebrates humanitarian ideals.
Aleppo – The Film was recognised as “Best Message of Courage” at the Fresco International Film Festival held in the Armenian capital city Yerevan.

The festival ran from August 23-30..
The short, which had its international festival premiere at the Bermuda International Film Festival earlier this year, tells the story of an Arab-American doctor attempting to come to terms with the traumatic injuries she received while treating victims of the Syrian civil war..
Award-winning producer Mr. Outerbridge and the film’s director Anthony Grippa are currently attempting to mount a feature-length version of the emotionally charged 20 minute short.

“Thank you to the jury and congratulations to all the cast and crew,” said a spokesman for the short’s production team following Aleppo – The Film’s win in Armenia. “We humbly dedicate this award to the truly courageous doctors who have put their lives on the line in Syria to help others, to the displaced civilians within Syria and the refugees beyond its borders. Stay strong.”
Aleppo – The Film stars French actress Laëtitia Eïdo, probably best-known to English-speaking audiences for her role in the Netflix series Fauda.

The Fresco International Film Festival, which screens dozens of full-length and short films every year, focuses on material “in which wars, violence, national, religious and other types of discrimination [are] denounced, and where peace, tolerance, humanism and global values are advocated.”
