“Art is a life-long passion for Mr. Seymour. Al recalls a burning desire to draw and paint beginning in the early 1940’s when Bermuda was struggling through a myriad of social issues, post slavery and post World War II,” Masterworks explained.

“As a young boy he didn’t know yet that art would become a lifelong adventure and passion. Portraying the world through his own lens seemed to be the best way to preserve not only moments in time but to harness his own creativity.

“Al’s daughter Lisa Pace recalls watching her father painting in amazement as a young girl. She too loved to paint and draw. As an adult she took it up, only to stop again.

“However, seeing the determination and passion still present in her father who painted a number of paintings for his 85th birthday show, she felt emboldened to start painting again. With his encouragement she has developed her own more impressionistic style and created a number of paintings specifically for this show.
