Police Attend Motorcycle Collision In Warwick
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision on Middle Road in Warwick this morning [Sept 12] near the junction with Cobbs Hill Road.
Bystanders indicate a motorcyclist appears to have collided with a pedestrian before landing in the road next to a car. The injured were transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment. Further details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.
Update 4.27pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 6:55am Thursday, September 12th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Cobbs Hill Road.
“It appears that a 39-year-old Paget woman was running [exercising] along Cobbs Hill Road and a motorcyclist, said to be a 42-year-old St. George’s man, was riding west along Middle Road when the 39-year-old woman attempted to cross Middle Road and was struck by the motorcyclist.
“Both the male rider and the female runner involved were injured and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
“Early information suggests that their injuries are not life threatening.
“Morning commuters experienced traffic delays in the surrounding area while inquiries were conducted at the scene.
“Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
