Video: ‘Taking Off’ On 2019 Accomplishments
Skyport has released the latest episode of ‘Taking Off’, a video series with host Mikaela Pearman that highlights the airport redevelopment project, with this episode highlighting the accomplishments this year.
Speaking in the episode, Mikaela Pearman said, “It’s just about the end of 2019 and that means the new passenger terminal building is close to completion – 89% to be exact.
“It seems like just yesterday we were installing the piles, and here we are, getting ready to open on schedule next year.
“Let’s look at what’s been accomplished this year.
“The roof was completed in January and celebrated with a roof wetting ceremony. The canopy for the walkway is finished and roofing for the bus canopy has started.
“The baggage handling system is 97 percent complete with the check in area completed. This means when you check in, you’ll drop your bag there instead of taking it through US Customs.
“Mechanical electrical plumbing is at 90 percent and power is on in the whole building.
“The cabling for IT is more than 80 percent finished and the flooring is at 88 percent completion.
“The ceiling is also being installed on both levels of the terminal. This is where the kites from the kite design contest will hang.
“While we’ve done so much, there’s still more to go.”
On time, on budget. Zane couldn’t do that putting sand in traps at Port Royal!
Same method they used to promote Americas Cup.
Aint falling for it cuz.
People doing the things they’re supposed to do is not a familiar concept for you.
Chinese Brainwashing Propaganda…
Wow great job, looks nice. Can you make the immigration line faster with something similar to global entry? The immigration line is a nightmare at the airport. Also can you put the dock back like they had for AC so that passengers can be dropped off and picked up?
Yeah right and the world is flat?? 89% complete “NOT” more like 75% complete.Public Realations at its best..I work down there for the last 2 1/2 years i know
This airport is looking good, but $30 Million a year for 30 years we are paying out (even if we fall short we will make up the difference, like Morgans Point).
You’re mixed up. $30m a year for 30 years is the cost of the new hospital wing. Nearly a billion dollars.
And the new hospital ‘wing’ is ?
It’s a beautiful Canadian airport that we have, we won’t make no $ from this for a minute. Thanks OBA….great business practice
Thanks PLP For Taking All The Money And Leaving OBA With Nothing To Start With! #BermudaGonnaStayBrokeWithPlpAlwaysInCharge
Well we have to thank de Canadian Gov. for stopping to sell it to de Chinese.
Mmmmmmmmm
