Fidelis Insurance Bermuda Donates $350,000
Fidelis Insurance Bermuda Limited [FIBL] has donated US$350,000 to various charities and organisations supporting community needs during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A spokesperson said, “In response to the Covid-19 crisis, Fidelis Insurance Bermuda Limited [FIBL] has donated US$350,000 to various charities and organisations supporting community needs.
“This is part of a larger US$500,000 donation split between all the countries where the Fidelis Group operates including the UK and Ireland. Fidelis recognises the importance of supporting the frontline services and the charitable sector in this time of extraordinary stress and demand. The donations in Bermuda are directed towards medical and food supplies to families and those most affected by this crisis.
Richard Brindle, the Fidelis Group CEO stated, “Covid-19 is an unparalleled world-wide crisis and it is important to Fidelis to play its part in the fight against the virus. All the communities in which we operate need support, but we recognise the importance of the insurance sector to Bermuda in particular, and so that’s where we are concentrating our resources. We are fortunate to be in a position to help due to our balance sheet strength and agile business model, so we are delighted to do so”.
Hinal Patel, CEO of FIBL, added, “We may be referred to in Bermuda as ‘international business’ but Bermuda is our home and we are an integral part of the Bermuda community.
“The challenges our Island faces in this crisis will require many different groups from all sectors to come together to address both the short-term and longer-term needs of our community. In addition to the US$350,000 corporate donation we are matching donations made by our staff members to charities of their choice, so this really is a team effort.”
