Sunday August 9th ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that eight students competed in the Alpha Beautillion, the Bermuda Hospitals Board switched on its new oxygenator which doubles the oxygen capacity of the hospital, Sandys Rotary donated to the Family Centre, and a Nahki Wells’ goal ranked among Bristol City’s Top 10 Goals of Season were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, the United World Colleges Bermuda National Committee has awarded Jeremiah Samuels a placement at UWC Costa Rica, Raishun Burch won two classes in Germany, Kamau Leverock and Joshua Gilbert were named Cricket Players of the Week, and the ‘Serving the Servers’ campaign raised $23,500 to support restaurant workers through the pandemic.
Other good news stories included Conyers selecting eight students as recipients of their 2020 Legal Awards, Carey Olsen being shortlisted for Offshore Firm of the Year, Ravoshia enjoying success with her song ‘Fashion Killa’, Chaîne des Rôtisserurs supporting the Restaurant Relief Fund, LSM supporting a community feeding program, and Minister Jason Hayward donating to North Village Community Club.
