The Bermuda Road Safety Council held a ‘Road Safety Day’ event this afternoon [Nov 18] at City Hall, with the event held in conjunction with UNESCO World Road Safety Week.
Chairman of the BRSC Dennis Lister III previously said, “There will be speakers, exhibition booths and demonstrations from key stakeholders in road safety. As road safety is of the utmost importance in Bermuda, we encourage people to attend and hear what they can do to help be a part of the solution to road safety.
“During our Road Safety Day we will have a moment of silence to remember those that have lost their lives on our roads going back 20 years. We invite family members of those road victims to come out and be part of this commemoration.
“Sadly, the island has mourned another life lost to our roads and the Bermuda Road Safety Council and the Minister of Transport sends our condolences to the family. Our prayers are with you in this time of bereavement.
“The message of road safety can’t be stressed enough and one life lost is one too many. Please Bermuda, slow down and drive with care and caution. Due to Covid-19, please wear a mask and physical distance while in attendance.”
