Lewis To Remain In Charleston For 2021 Season
Bermuda’s Zeiko Lewis is set to return to the Charleston Battery for the 2021 season, the North Carolina based soccer club said.
The club’s announcement said, “The Battery’s two-time Offensive Player of the Year is back for the 2021 season! Zeiko Lewis enters his third year in the Black and Yellow while remaining one of Charleston’s biggest threats on the attack next season.
“The 2019 leading goal scorer didn’t miss a beat entering 2020. Lewis kicked things off with the team’s first goal during a 1-0 season-opening win over Atlanta United 2. The Bermudian International would go on to score 6 goals in the shortened season, tied with Nicque Daley as the team leader.
“Zeiko’s penchant for finding the back of the net was on full display on August 15 as he registered a brace in an incredible comeback win against Atlanta. The performance earned Lewis USL Player of the Week honors for his second time in two seasons.
“Lewis also finished the season with 27 shots and 34 chances created, leading the team for a second consecutive year in both categories. It’s shaping up to be an exciting 2021 Season for the Battery attack with Zeiko’s return.”
