Tennis: Redmond Guides Bloomsburg To Victory
Scott Redmond and his Bloomsburg University Men’s Tennis teammates picked up their first win of the season, edging Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference [PSAC] opponent, Millersville, 4-3.
Guille Carranza and Redmond won the first doubles match, as the pair worked a 6-3 win over their Millersville counterparts Santiago Ramos and Zach Pernia in the number three spot.
The match was level at 3 – 3, Redmond was playing Ting-Yu Yen in the number five singles spot in the decider that went 3 sets.
Redmond won his first set 6-4 but fell in the second set, 7-5. Redmond was able to rebound and pull out a 6-3 win in the deciding set.
“Redmond scored 4th point by just staying level-headed and solid. We have a bunch of things we need to improve upon but that was a really good team effort and a good win,” said Coach Rebecca Helt.
