BPS: Ensure Ample Travel Time To Make Curfew

The Bermuda Police Service reminds the motorists and boaters that “ample travel time should be allowed to safely get to their final destination before the start of curfew at 11pm.”

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] continues to advise motorists and boaters that ample travel time should be allowed to safely get to their final destination before the start of curfew at 11pm.

“In addition, to assist with protecting the safety of all road and water users, residents are urged not to speed in an effort to get to their intended destination ahead of curfew.

“As a reminder, the current curfew is in effect from 11pm to 5am on land, with the boating curfew from 8pm to 5am.

“We all have a role to play in stopping the spread of the novel coronavirus disease [COVID-19] and members of the public abiding by the curfew regulations will help to limit the latest outbreak of COVID-19.

“As such, the BPS remains committed to its role of appropriate enforcement regarding curfew breaches. Individuals found out and about during curfew will be stopped and questioned as to whether or not they are exempted under the COVID-19 regulations.

“Those who are not exempted will be reported for summons to appear in court for violating those regulations.
