Video: Discussion On Anti-Apartheid Movement
At 5.30pm today [June 26] there will be a live panel discussion to mark the observance of the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Anti-Apartheid Movement in Bermuda.
A spokesperson said, “In observance of the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Anti-Apartheid Movement in Bermuda on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 5.30pm, there will be a Virtual Panel Discussion on Bernews.
“Facilitated by Bermudian Writer – Vance Chapman – who resides in Los Angles, the participants will discuss the theme for the anniversary ‘Think Globally, Act Locally.’

“This digital presentation will include former Premier W. Alex Scott being interviewed by Thaao Dill and a panel which will include Cheryl Pooley Alves, Arlene Brock and Glenn Fubler. These four were all involved in that sustained movement towards a democratic South Africa, which began in 1981, lasting into the early ‘90’s.
The panel was arranged by the organisation marking the anniversary, with streaming facilitated by Bernews, and the live stream will start at 5.30pm, available in this article and on Bernews Facebook page, Twitter feed and YouTube channel.
