Youth Film Festival Deadline & Free Workshop
The deadline for the Bermuda Youth Film Festival is on Thursday, 26th May, and Therese Bean will be holding a free workshop at the Saltus Drama Studio on Saturday, 7th May from 1.00pm to 4.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “This workshop is an opportunity for any questions to be answered and technical support. Participants will also be shown how to make a film on a mobile phone, including tips with camera shots and angles, how to make the most of casting, locations etc. and editing. Participants can stay for all or part of the afternoon. This workshop is open to all students and teachers island wide, and it is free.
“As a reminder, the Bermuda Youth Film Festival is open island wide to all students aged 11 to 18 years and they are invited to submit short films, in three categories: 60 second sprint; 1–3-minute short shorts and 3–5-minute short films. Entries are limited to one per category per student, but students can submit multiple entries [in different categories]. We encourage schools to support a variety of student entries.
“The fun aspect of this festival is that all films will need to include the ‘signature item’ which is the Bermuda Longtail this year. All films that are submitted will be required to have a teacher acknowledgment form to ensure that the films meet the requirements.
“There are three local judges that work in the Film Industry and the winners will get to have their film showcased at BUEI on Tuesday, 21st June.
