World Rugby Classic: France & Argentina Win
The 2022 World Rugby Classic got underway at the National Sports Center, with a total of 91 points scored in the two matches.
France 28 - Italy 6
Italy scored the game’s first points as Ramiro Pez kicked a penalty, Pez doubled the lead with another penalty, but from there on in it was all France. France would get on the board just before the break with Romain Granal going over for a try, and Mathieu Amoros kicked the conversion to make it 7 – 6.
In the second half, France added to their lead as Leandre Billand scored a try, and when Julien Baron kicked the conversion they extended the lead to 14 – 6, Renaud Droitecourt went over for France and baron kicked the conversion to make it 21 – 6, Benjamin Rioux scored the France final try and Baron added the conversion to make the final score 28 – 6.
Argentina 57 - USA Classic Eagles 0
Argentina then shut out the USA Classic Eagles 57 – 0 in the nightcap.
It was all of two minutes when Lucas Borges scored under the post and Juan Cruz Gonzalez added the conversion for them to take a 7 – 0 lead. Nicholas Bruzzone would go over for Argentina, and Gonzalez added the conversion to double the score at 14 – 0. Gonzalez would score a try for Argentina and he then kicked the conversion to make the score 21 – 0, Manuel Carizza went over for Argentina and Gonzalez kicked the conversion making it 28 – 0, the final try of the half came when Federico Amelong went over for Argentina, the conversion was missed making the half time score 33 – 0.
Bruzzone added his second try of the match early in the second half, but the conversion was missed, Mauro Comuzzi would extend the Argentina lead to 43 – 0, with the conversion missed again. Javier Agnacio Alianelli got in on the scoring act and when Alberto di Bernado added the conversion it would make the score 50 – 0, Amelong would also added a second try, and when di Bernado it made the final score 57 – 0.
