Volleyball Players Competing In Cayman Islands
The NORCECA Beach Tour — which is the signature beach volleyball tour for the North American, Central American and Caribbean Zone — got underway in the Cayman Islands.
The Bermuda women’s team of Allison Settle & Lisa LeBlanc ended the day with 1 win and 3 defeats, they are in second place in pool A.
Settle/LeBlanc went down 2 – 0 to McBain/Monkhouse from Canada 21-13, 21-7, Settle/LeBlanc would then fall 2 – 0 to Choon/Selvon from Trinidad 22-20, 21-15.
The Bermuda pair then fell 2 – 0 to Soler/Velasquez from El Salvador 21-13, 21-14, in their final match of the day the Bermuda pair were declared winners over Gutierrez/Ibarra from Mexico through a Forfeit.
Kyle Hamilton and Ryan Davies battled in the Men’s Pool B, they ended the day 0 & 2, Hamilton/Davies went down 2 – 0 to Pepe/Guatemala from El Salvador 21-5, 21-14. In their next match, Hamilton/Davies fell 2 – 0 to Blanco/Garcia from Guyana 21-15, 21-10.
Brandon Sousa and Ian Bucci competed in pool D, they also ended the day 0 & 2, Sousa/Bucci fell to Fleridor/Olando from Haiti 21-15, 22-20, Sousa/Bucci then went down 2 – 0 to Lobo/Dyner from Costa Rica 21-9, 21-14.
