Water Service Disruptions In Pembroke
The Ministry of Public Works is reminding Pembroke residents and businesses about the work now underway on the Parson’s Road trunk Government water main.
A Government spokesperson said, “The work, expected to last four months, is part of the Ministry’s island-wide upgrades to the Island’s water and sewage infrastructure. The water main in question was determined to be past its useful life and determined to be the source of a significant daily loss of water.
“The Ministry has already informed area resident complexes and business owners directly and through a previous press release on 28 October.
“As a further reminder, Pembroke residents connected to Government water service lines should expect scheduled interruptions to their piped water supply over a four-month period to allow for the complete replacement of the infrastructure.
“This water line provides a top-up service to refill water tanks when needed, and no residence should have a direct connection to it in lieu of internal pressure systems.
“Water service will be shut off on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and restored by 6 p.m. on Fridays during each week of the construction period.
“However, the work will be suspended on Friday, 16 December, for four weeks to ensure water service is available during the Christmas holiday period.
“For customers wishing further information on these scheduled service interruptions, please get in touch with the Water and Sewage Section by email at water@gov.bm or telephone at 278- 0570.
“The Ministry apologises in advance for the inconvenience caused by this necessary work.”
