Snooker: Sandys, Spanish Point, & Watford Win
The Bermuda Snooker League Season resumed with matches across the island.
Sandys Boat Club 5 – Warwick Workmen’s Club One 0
Richie Beale gave Sandys an early lead, taking the 1st of 2 games against Warwick’s Steve Tucker, 46-17, Beale then capitalized on the momentum in a convincing 64-20 win in the 2nd.
Paul Fedden made it 3 – 0 for Sandys when he defeated Warwick’s Pamela Quadroy in a comfortable 69-13 win in the 3rd.
Peter Bromby extended Sandys lead further in the next, when he overcame Warwick’s Gary Bascombe, taking pink and black to clinch it 53-44
Fedden/Bromby completed the whitewash for Sandys when they defeated Warwick’s Bascombe/Quadroy 101-39 in the doubles.
Spanish Point Boat Club Two 5 – Warwick Workmen’s Club Two 0
Billy Wotton got Spanish Point off to a flying start when he defeated Warwick’s Captain Steven Bremar on the final black, 54-46
Tyler Moniz capitalized on the lead, taking the 1st of 2 games against Warwick’s Ray DeSilva convincingly, 70-15.
Moniz then made it 3 – 0 to Spanish Point when he won the 2nd of the 2 games in an equally impressive fashion, 78-33
Spanish Point Captain & reigning Bermuda Open Champion, John Orr, extended the lead further, securing the next game against Warwick’s Scott Barnes on the final black, 54-36
Spanish Point duo Orr/Wotton completed the league’s 2nd whitewash of the night when they defeated Warwick’s Bremar/Barnes 65-41 in the doubles.
Watford Sports Club 4 – Spanish Point Boat Club One 1
Winslow Smith put Watford into an early lead when he defeated Spanish Point’s Todd Dziak on the final black, 49-43
Reigning DeSilva Cup champion, Keino Zuill made it 2 – 0 to Watford, when he won the 1st of 2 games against Spanish Point Captain, Stewart Greenslade 45-27
However, Greenslade pulled one back for Spanish Point when he won the 2nd of the 2 games, 55-36
Watford Captain, Aaron Bean, restored their 2-game lead when he narrowly defeated Spanish Point’s Chris Dakin on the black, 47-40.
Duo Kidd Mouchette & Bean sealed victory for Watford when they defeated Spanish Point’s Alan Smith & Dakin, 54-39 in the Doubles
