Bermuda Motors Donates Car To College
Bermuda Motors donated a Kia Picanto car to Bermuda College in support of the hands-on training for the College’s Motor Vehicle Technology associate degree, diploma and certificate programmes.
A spokesperson said, “The training car will be the most recent addition to the automotive fleet, and comes equipped with an electrical training board and transmission. The Department of Workforce Development assisted in brokering the industry partnership in its mandate to ensure students receive the newest and most recent technology available for training purposes.”

“Through our partnership with industry stakeholders, the Training Section of Workforce Development has helped position students on a direct pathway towards national certification,” said Wesley Robinson, Standards and Enforcement Officer at WFD. “It underscores our commitment to give Bermudians advantages in the ever-changing automotive industry.”
Bermuda Motors HR Administrator, Lisa Cabral agreed. “We are always looking to encourage individuals who wish to pursue a career in this field. We recently had Aiden Lopes join us from Bermuda College as an apprentice in our Service Department, and in addition to Aiden, we have two young men shadowing our A1 technicians in the Body & Paint Shops. All three of these young men have shown great enthusiasm and promise.”

L’Tanya Roberts, Dean of the Division expressed gratitude for the partnership. “Motor vehicle technology is a field that is constantly transforming with new systems and operations to learn, and new skills required. The College is indebted to Bermuda Motors and the Department of Workforce Development for helping our students stay current in their training with a view to becoming future masters of the trade.”
