$5K Prize Money For 5K Road Race On May 7th
The Bermuda HealthCare Sir Stanley Burgess 5k Race takes place on Sunday, May 7, 2023, and features $5000 in prize money to be split equally between the 1st place adult male and 1st place adult female runners.
A spokesperson said, “BHCS is proud to continue Title Sponsorship of The Bermuda HealthCare Sir Stanley Burgess 5k Race, the final race in the iconic Legends Series organized annually by Swan’s Running Club.”
Dr. Ewart Brown, Executive Chairman of BHCS, stated, “The Sir Stanley 5k is an integral part of Bermuda’s Heritage Month activities. This is the second year of our sponsorship agreement with Swan’s Running Club, and we are pleased to see an increase in the registration numbers.
“Sir Stanley Burgess was one of our childhood heroes; everybody in Flatts was proud when he ran past us with the white handkerchief on his head.” Dr. Brown added, “BHCS team is committed to excellence and giving back to the community.”
Race Director Christine Joell said, “We thank Bermuda HealthCare Services for their ongoing commitment to this important event. The Bermuda HealthCare Sir Stanley Burgess 5k Race is the last in Swan’s Running Club’s Annual Legends Series, which also celebrates the running legacies of Ed Sherlock, Ludwig Cann, and Ray Swan.
Ms. Joell concluded, “Our successful partnership with Bermuda HealthCare Services enables us to encourage better health within the sporting community and throughout Bermuda.”
