In A Division action, Bermuda Bananas outdueled Platano Power 22 -19 behind the juggernaut, Mark James, who blasted a grand-slam and a 3rbi shot while amassing 9rbi to lead his team to victory. Bananas scored their final five runs in the bottom of the 6th inning and Platano Power did not go lightly as they scored 4 runs in the seventh inning, including a three-run blast by Albert Acevedo, to make it uncomfortable for Bananas. James was supported by Daniel Andrade [4rbi] and Nikki Palle [3rbi] while Acevedo [4rbi], Lewis Reynoso [4rbi] and Manuel Flores and Joelvis Diaz each contributed 3rbi in the loss.

In Women’s Division action, Western Stars Angels made light work of Hardknockz defeating them 23 – 1. Keisha Eve drove in five runs with Nikita Trott assisting with 3rbi. Hardknockz’s offence was stifled, registering a total of six hits with Latisha Daniels driving in their only run and Keisante Grant going 2 for 3, the only player with multiple hits.

In B Division action, Hakuna Matata Lions recorded victories over both their opponents. They defeated Paraquet Flyers 21 – 18 but left it late, scoring eleven runs in the top of the seventh inning including a grand-slam by Stephen Smith to lead 21 – 15 and Flyers could only plate three runs in response. Scott Barnes, Brian Hall and Smith all had 4rbi performances for the victors. Steve O’Flynn [7rbi], Aaron Madeiros [4rbi] and Leonardo Silvera [3rbi] lead Flyers’ attack.

In their other game in the week, Hakuna Mata Lions put the brakes on the high-flying King Beaches as they recorded a 16 – 7 win. Stephen Smith recorded another grand-slam and 8rbi with help from Preston Mallory [2rbi] to lead the charge. King Beaches were unable to sustain any sort of offence that would trouble Lions, scoring no more than two runs in any inning. John Rolph [2 for 3 - 1hr, 2rbi] and Richard Campbell [3 for 3 - 1d, 1hr, 1rbi] were standouts in a losing effort.

King Beaches made amends as they romped over a hapless Team Smokey 24 – 9. Tory Richard [7rbi], Rebecca Schoeler and Blaine Bernard each with 4rbi did most of the damage. Justin Brookes [2hr – 4rbi] and Garic Swainson [2rbi] lead the offence for Team Smokey.

Paraquet Flyers also redeemed themselves defeating Team Smokey 28 – 27. Joel Czember blasted a two-run shot in the top of the seventh inning to put Flyers ahead 28 – 26. In the bottom of the inning with bases loaded, Team Smokey’s Eugene Dyer doubled to score Jordan Lamb from third base. However, Tahirah Hill tried to score as well from second base and was called out at the plate to end the threat. Czember [7rbi], Steve O’Flynn [6rbi] and Aaron Maderios [5rbi] lead Flyers’ potent attack while Idrees Sharieff [5rbi], Dean Douglas [4rbi] and Garic Swainson [4rbi] lead the line for Team Smokey.

In D Division action, Oddballs brushed aside Five O’s 25 – 11 behind Tyler Bordeleau [3hr – 9rbi], Perry D’Ambrosio [5rbi] and Jeff Chisnall [4rbi]. Oddballs lead 15 – 5 after the third inning and cruised to an easy win. Five O’s were led by Chris Sabean [4rbi] and Daischon Chin [2rbi] in a losing effort.

In E Division action, BGA Hammers steamrolled over their two opponents and look to be a strong contender for league champions even this early in the season. They crushed EY Bermuda 15 – 6 behind a balanced attack with Daniel Ball, Jay Fox, Justin Wall, Keisante Grant, Karim O’Connor and Julian Carpenter each contributing with 2rbi. Gaurav Gaurav [3 for 3 – 1rbi] and Craig Munden [3 for 4 – 1rbi] were the standouts for EY.

BGA Hammers also crushed Deloitte 25 – 3. They scored fourteen runs in the first inning including a grand-slam by Todd Diziak and never looked back. Deloitte scored all their runs in the bottom of the first inning. Diziak [7rbi], Daniel Ball [3rbi] and Tim Sherman [3rbi] led the line for BGA. Deloitte could only manage five total team hits with Samson Douglas, Dominique Place and Antoine Jackson each driving in a run.
