As a part of its 125th anniversary celebrations, the Berkeley Educational Society held their ‘Dress Code Runway Show’ — a Tea, Hat, and Fashion show fundraiser — on Sunday [June 11].
Maxine Esdaille, Chair of the Planning Committee, previously said, “The idea behind this event is to recognize and celebrate Berkeley’s contribution, through its students and alumni, to Bermuda’s fashion culture ‘Through the Ages.”
A spokesperson said, “As hats were prominently worn during all social occasions of that era, the second part of the event will feature a hat show with both male and female models.
“The hat show, with both ladies and men modeling, will celebrate the journey of hat-wearing in our community and how it has shaped aspects of our culture.”
The hats on display are supplied by Jazzy’s Boutique, and from personal collections.
The spokesperson said, “The final portion of the afternoon will be the fashion show featuring 5 Berkeley Alumni Fashion Designers, who are prominent both locally and internationally. The fashion show is sure to be the highlight of the afternoon! The designers are:
- Channing Dill [Class of ’05] – NATIVE
- Rochelle Minors [Class of ’07] –ROCHELLENICOLE
- Desire Riley [Class of ’09] –DÉZIREDESIGNS
