Reggie Lambe was named the Supporters’ Man of the Match in Braintree Town’s 1-0 defeat against his former club Ipswich Town in a pre-season friendly yesterday [July 28].
Lambe made six appearances for Ipswich between 2009 and 2011.
“For the first time, your Supporters’ Player of the Match for his performance against Ipswich Town was Reggie Lambe,” Braintree tweeted.
Lambe joined Braintree, who play in the Vanarama National League South – the sixth tier of English football – after leaving Isthmian League North Division outfit AFC Sudbury last month.
The 32-year-old, the island’s most-capped international, has enjoyed a varied career, playing for Ipswich, Toronto FC, Nykopings, Mansfield Town, Carlisle United and Cambridge United.
Braintree start their season with a trip to Taunton Town next Saturday [August 5].
