Review: The Three King’s Restaurant

St. George’s, and Bermuda as a whole, is definitely ready for The Three Kings Restaurant. It is a new location from the FoodHub Group serving steaks and shanks, pizza, pasta, noodles, fried rice, soups, salad, and burgers, along with Indian, Greek, and Chinese. In addition, there is an extensive list of appetizers and interesting items like Mexican street fries and the much beloved Bermuda fish sandwich.

It is an impressive list, served in an impressive setting in the middle of St. George. You can relax in the newly renovated facility that was once Pub on the Square. While great attention has been made to restore the historic nature of the building and its Pub-like feel, the significant renovation of this restaurant is fresh and bright, with seating on the porch overlooking the square, a spacious interior with a lighted Iguana on the bar roof in the main dining, and a private dining and events room.

Manager Lakku and waiters Jay and John rendered first-class customer service and were quite efficient with a large group of tourists who visited during my relaxing and very satisfying lunch.

I enjoyed the following dishes:

My appetizer was the salt pepper tofu, fried with golden crispy crust and aromatic seasonings. I’m not a big tofu eater, but wanted to try something different. It was a delightful, subtle dish, beautifully presented, tender, and delicious. My main course was the mango chicken curry; well and absolutely delicious.

My guest enjoyed the crispy calamari, which the chef cooked to perfection. Her main course was the ‘Big Homemade Burger’ cooked medium well, with the works, and served with fries. It certainly was big. It was halved, with the second portion going home. Lots of compliments were paid to it.

Dishes catching my eye from the appetizer and main course list included:

  • Greek salad
  • Moussaka
  • Murgh malai kebab
  • Coconut jhinga curry
  • Orange fish
  • Hot chickpea pizza
  • Chicken fattoria pizza
  • Balsamic barbecue pork shank

Desserts are on the menu, but we were so full that we didn’t even look. We were pleasantly overwhelmed by the atmosphere and service. Our major concern was to return soon and enjoy once again. There is so much to offer.

With the thriving Foodhub take-out and delivery on the lower floor and The Three Kings dining restaurant located on the new upper level, St. George’s is going to shortly become the eastern capital of cuisine. Given the struggles already documented regarding its opening in a World Heritage Site, this new restaurant is a noteworthy addition which Sir George Somers would extol together with the proponents of its World Heritage designation.
