Skyport: Latest Update On Airline Services
United, American, Jet Blue, Air Canada, and Delta all cancelled their flights scheduled for today [Aug 30], British Airways is expected to land tonight, and BermudAir will delay their inaugural flight until September 1st.
A spokesperson said, “Skyport wishes to update the public about the status of scheduled inbound and outbound flights at LF Wade International Airport [LFWIA] in the wake of weather conditions associated with Hurricane Franklin.
“Skyport and its airline partners have been closely monitoring the weather conditions associated with Hurricane Franklin, forecasted to pass by Bermuda on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. United Airlines, American Airlines, Jet Blue, Air Canada, and Delta have cancelled all flights scheduled for today.
“Additionally, BermudAir, which was scheduled to fly to Bermuda today, in advance of its inaugural commercial flights on Thursday, has announced that the new carrier will instead launch its service on Friday, September 1 at its regularly scheduled time.However, British Airways is operating today with (flight BA159) from London Heathrow expected to arrive at 7:43 pm.
“The BermudAir inaugural flights scheduled for Thursday, August 31, between Bermuda and Boston, and Bermuda and Westchester, New York, have been cancelled. The service will instead launch on Friday, September 1, for both the Bermuda-Boston-Bermuda routes [flights 2T301/2T302], and the Bermuda-Westchester, New York – Bermuda routes [flights 2T223/2T224]
“American Airlines has confirmed that flights [AA2044] to and from Charlotte, flights [AA1289] to and from New York JFK and flights [AA825] to and from Philadelphia, scheduled for Wednesday, August 30 have been cancelled. American Airlines has confirmed that it will accommodate passengers affected by the cancellations, by operating the following additional flights on Thursday, August 31, 2023:
- AA9604 PHL/BDA/PHL – arrive 0915 / depart 1000
- AA9605 CLT/BDA/CLT – arrive 1020 / depart 1105
“United Airlines flights [UA2392/UA1985] to and from Newark respectively, scheduled for Wednesday, August 30 have also been cancelled to resume service on Thursday, August 31.
“Delta Airlines has cancelled its flights [DL 584/DL 583] between Bermuda and Atlanta today. They are set to resume regular service on Thursday, August 31.
“JetBlue has cancelled each of its flights for today. The carrier’s cancelled BDA flights include Boston [B6203/204], New York La Guardia [B62177/B62178] and New York JFK [B61931/B62032]
“Air Canada has cancelled its regular flights between Toronto and Bermuda [AC1818/AC1819] and is expected to resume service on [AC1998/AC1999] on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
“Skyport encourages all passengers with travel bookings through LFWIA on Wednesday and Thursday to contact their airline carrier to receive the latest flight updates or to explore rebooking options as needed.
