Mia Fishel helped Chelsea Women avoid a scare after scoring the equaliser in their 3-1 win at home to West Ham United Women in the Women’s FA Cup fourth round yesterday [January 14].
Fishel, whose father is Bermudian, equalised in the 70th minute for the FA Cup holders to cancel out Viviane Asseyi’s opener for the visiting side.
Erin Cuthbert and Sjoeke Nusken netted in extra time for Chelsea to ensure they advance to the next round.
Fishel, who made her debut for the United States women’s senior team in September last year, joined the Women’s Super League champions from Mexican club Tigres for a reported $250,000 last summer.
