Collision Involving Motorcycle & Cars In Paget
A “multi vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and several cars” occurred tonight [Feb 7] in Paget, with the police saying “it is believed that a female motorcyclist may have sustained a head injury in the collision.”
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly before 8pm on Wednesday 7th of February 2024, police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a multi vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and several cars on South Road, Paget junction, with White Sands Road.
“Details surrounding the accident are limited at this time, however, it is believed that a female motorcyclist may have sustained a head injury in the collision. No other persons were reported to be injured.
“Traffic is currently being diverted around the scene, using a one lane system, while police forensically process the scene.”

Motor cycle helmets have a posative side an a negative side
In my personal oppinion the negatives out weigh the positives
Negative
Does not completely prevent head injury.
Just falling of a stationary bike wearing a motorcycle helmet can cause mild concussion head injury.
***** Added helmet weight causes accidents.
***** Windage on the helmet caused accidents.
***** Restricts hearing.
***** Restricts visibility.
Creates a false sence of security.
Perceived a false sense safety .
Promotes speeding and reckless driving.
Manditory ? ~ should be as a personal choice.
Short usage period.
Can cause skin and hair problems.
Requires regular sanitation.
Chin strap could cause strangulation.
Could cause severe concussion.
The helmet law could be subject to Mal Feasants .
Most Peoples heads weigh approx. 8 lbs ,now add say the helmets at 3 pounds plus windage.
The weight and position of the head(s) with or with out a helmet can affect proper steering and control.
Should the pillion passenger wear a motorcycle helmet which also does affect balance and control .
Posative
The reversed law in Florida, states that is no longer mandatory by the requiring the wearing of a motorcycle helmet.
Make good rain hat.
Can include a rain visor .
Can include a sun visor.
Should be a personal choice.
Stay in Florida with your Harley.
