Track Athletes Compete In Indoor Championships
Five Bermuda track athletes competed in various Indoor Championships.
Caitlyn Bobb, Keturah Bulford-Trott, & Za’Kayza Parsons
Caitlyn Bobb, Keturah Bulford-Trott, and Za’Kayza Parsons represented UMBC on the first day of the America East Indoor track and field championships from The Track at New Balance.
Parsons recorded four points for UMBC with a fifth-place finish in the long jump. Parsons hit the 5.42m mark on her penultimate effort of the competition. Parsons would also compete in the women’s 60m dash preliminaries, she would finish 13th overall clocking a time of 7.79.
Bulford-Trott clocked a personal best time of 9.17 in the women’s 60 meter hurdles finishing 11th overall.
Bobb qualified for the women’s 400 dash final after winning the preliminaries clocking a time of 55.82
Sancho Smith
Sancho Smith and his Clayton State University track & field teammates competed in the inaugural Peach Belt Conference Indoor track & field championships inside the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.
Smith and Rakiem Barnes finished sixth in the men’s 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.76.
The meet ended with the men’s 4×400 meter relay. The team which saw Smith, run the second leg finished in fourth place with a time of 3:23.24. Flagler beat out Clayton State by four-tenths-of-a-second for all-conference honors.
Ryan Outerbridge
Ryan Outerbridge and his Franklin Pierce University men’s track and field teammates competed in the Northeast-10 Indoor track & field championships.
Outerbridge finished 8th competing in the men’s mile stopping the clock in a time of 4:28.21.
