Boccia: Desilva-Andrade Claims Win In Montreal
Yushae Desilva-Andrade secured a 5-2 victory against world number 15 Aurelie Aubert from France in her first boccia match in Montreal.
A spokesperson said, “Yushae won her 1st match today 5-2 against world number 15 Aurelie Aubert from France. She got off to a great start winning 2 points in both the first 2 ends to go 4-0 up at the half way mark. Both players received a point each in the 3rd end and the French player scored 1 point in the final end.
“Athletes from 22 countries are competing in Montreal including many of the top players who will be competing in the Paralympics in August. This is a great opportunity for our athletes to see what level they are at early in the season.
“Yushae’s next game tomorrow against World Number 10 Yuriko Fujii from Japan. Omar plays World Number 6 John Loung from Hong Kong later today.”
