Video: Sir John Swan Press Conference
Sir John Swan is holding a press conference today [April 8] and you can tune in and watch live below. The former Premier and businessman is commenting about the possibility of running in the upcoming C10 Smith’s North bye-election, and said he is open to receiving feedback from the public on the idea; he is also suggesting that people stand as independent candidates across the island.
The 55-minute live video replay is below:
Smart advice John.
Take care.
What’s very telling is that Sir John is recommending going back to the format of Bermuda being run by independents prior to the PLP appearing.
Seems desperate for attention. I think he wiii be embarrassed at the polls if he runs. Don’t go out like that Sir John.
It is so refreshing to listen to someone who can think and speak on his feet. No notes. No shuffling of papers. No ah, ah, ahs or uh, uh, uhs. Just straight forward speech. Easy when you know what you are talking about.
How interesting. A Black Bermudian former UBP leader who is considering a return to politics and is not being vilified by trolls as a “surrogate”.
If This country cannot educate and feed our children, now you know why people do not have any.
Further more Bermuda has always been unsuitable to raise children.
Double dip Taxation , inflation without representation.
Winner takes all, greed takes what is left ,if any.
Bermuda was and still is always be too expensive.
No body saw the brain drain until it became too late.
The damage has been done .
It is easier to fall down a flight of stairs than to climb them.
This island has to do better with less .
A life lived in fear of depravation and starvation is a life half lived.
It will not take much longer for Bermuda to become another barren Easter island .
Count our losses.
BELCo.
Airport.
Hospital.
Food markets.
Jobs.
“Further more Bermuda has always been unsuitable to raise children.”
I disagree. Even today Bermuda is one of the safest places on earth to raise a child.
“inflation without representation”
Governments cannot control inflation. It is a consequence of the free market economy.
“No body saw the brain drain until it became too late.”
I disagree. The PLP Government was warned in 2007 of the consequences of its policies. It pressed ahead anyway. It was a conscious decision.
get rid of all the clowns on the hill that act like they are in kindergarten pre school and let a man of vision, integrirty, honbesty, foresight, busioness sense et enough independents in that we can have real governance of the people for the people. He is absolutely correct the current system is broken and boarders on dictatorship. Go get em Sir John
