Dr Brown Honoured By Alma Mater In Jamaica
Former Premier Dr Ewart Brown was honoured by his alma mater, St. Jago High School in Jamaica.
A spokesperson said, “Dr. the Hon. Ewart Brown, former Premier of Bermuda, received a heartfelt and distinguished honour from his alma mater, St. Jago High School, on June 5, 2024. In a surprise daylong event, Dr. Brown was celebrated for his extensive contributions to the fields of medicine, politics, social justice, and philanthropy.
“During the ceremony, Principal Collette Pryce delivered a moving citation, highlighting Dr. Brown’s impactful career and unwavering dedication to his professional and humanitarian endeavors. Vice-Principal Mrs. James-Barnett introduced Dr. Brown before presenting him with a special award, acknowledging his lifelong service to St. Jago High School in Spanish Town, Jamaica.”
Dr. Brown stated, “I am deeply humbled and immensely grateful to St. Jago High School for the extraordinary honour they bestowed upon me. What I thought was a day of private meetings with teachers, students, and coaches turned into a day entirely dedicated to recognizing my life’s work. I was completely taken by surprise and overwhelmed by the warmth and generosity shown by everyone involved.”
Dr Brown added: “Being recognized by the very institution that played a pivotal role in shaping my early years is incredibly special. This honour is a testament to the enduring bond I share with my alma mater and reinforces my commitment to continue serving the community in any way I can.”
