Jessica Lewis Breaks America’s 100m Record

Jessica Lewis concluded competing in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Nottwil, Switzerland, making an outstanding showing to break the America’s record in the T53 100m, shattering the old record which has stood since 1997.

Lewis finished 3rd competing in the T53 women’s 100m race clocking a personal best and an Americas Record breaking time of 16:12. Samantha Kinghorn from Great Britain won the race in 15:39, and Catherine Debrunner from Switzerland was second in 15:64.

Lewis’ previous personal best time was 16:37, while the previous Americas Record was 16:23 set by Leann Shannon from the United States in 1997.
