IDA-Bermuda Win Title In Northern Ireland
The International Development Academy-Bermuda Under-13 boys’ team have won the Minor Division Vase Championship at the Super Cup NI in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The IDA-Bermuda team defeated Northern Irish side Glentoran 3-2 on penalties after the match ended goalless in regulation time.
Goalkeeper Xavier Thomas-Bassett produced two saves in the shootout. Conor O’Sullivan and De’ari Trott converted their spot kicks before Adam Barritt thumped his shot past the Glentoran goalkeeper to seal the win.
Richard Todd, the IDA-Bermuda head coach, wrote on Facebook: “The victory capped off what has been a good week and tournament experience for the IDA-Bermuda-based team, who demonstrated a good competitive level of play throughout the games, earning the respect and admiration from coaches, fans and tournament officials.”
IDA-Bermuda forward Harry Bingham was awarded the Super Cup NI Player of the Tournament for the boys’ Minor Division.
