Video: Sunday July 7th “Good News” Spotlight

News that Bermuda triple jumper Jah-Nhai Perinchief qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games, Jessica Lewis qualified for the 2024 Paralympic Games, and Nonsuch Expeditions received a $25,000 Chairman’s Award were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, Erica Hawley set a national record in the 5K, Zoe Skinners reflected on a “journey of a lifetime,” Elijah Daley won two gold medals at a swim meet in Canada, Cameron Jeffers and his Marshfield Cricket Club teammates defeated Corsham Cricket Club by two wickets, Mason Smith won the under 11 boys squash category, Port Royal Golf Course celebrated its 50th anniversary, Alex Waldauer and Marie Dore raced to victory in the 2024 Liberty Mutual National Sprint Triathlon, and Jessica Lewis qualified for the 2024 Paralympics.

Further good news included a Community Cooking Club at CedarBridge Academy, MSA’s Rotary Interact Club reporting a successful 2023/24, Bermuda Maritime Academy achieving international accreditation, a BBC series is set to feature Bermuda’s police and Coast Guard, Carey Olsen partners Michael Hanson, Jeremy Lightfoot, Michael Padarin, Chris Griffin, Anthony McKenzie, and James Noble were named in ABLJ’s 2024 Top 50 Offshore Lawyers list, Appleby Bermuda welcomed summer interns, and Mikaela Ian Pearman is getting set to speak at a Black Travel Expo event in Atlanta
