Mirrors Holds Student Artists Prize Presentation
Yesterday [Sept 11], the Mirrors Programme celebrated the talents of Bermuda’s young artists at its 8th Annual Art & Digital Competition Prize Presentation.
A Government spokesperson said, “This year’s theme, ‘Feels Like Home,’ invited students to explore and express what home means to them through their art. A total of 160 art entries and 10 digital entries were received from primary, middle, and high school students across the island, reflecting a wide range of emotions and interpretations of home.”
Senator Lindsay Simmons, who attended the event, spoke to the importance of fostering creativity in Bermuda’s youth, saying, “Through these stunning artworks, our young people have shared powerful and unique perspectives on what home means to them. The talent and passion of Bermuda’s students are truly inspiring, and I can’t wait to see what they create next year.”
The spokesperson said, “The competition awarded prizes to winners in various categories, with Mount Saint Agnes taking home the top school prize. The full list of winners is as follows:
3rd Place Winners:
- Primary: Marwah Abdul-Jabbar, Clara Mohammed School
- Middle: Sohl Hunt, Purvis
- High School: Nyah Roberts, Bermuda High School
2nd Place Winners:
- Primary: Leonardo Stoppa, Mount Saint Agnes
- Middle: Lucy Leman, Bermuda High School
- High School: Alyssa Almeida, Mount Saint Agnes
1st Place Winners:
- Primary: Thomas Smith, Warwick Academy
- Middle: Seri Fisher, Warwick Academy
- High School: Skye Ferguson, Mount Saint Agnes
Individual Digital Winners:
- 1st Place: Alex Malo, Mount Saint Agnes
- 2nd Place: Indica Wilson-Bean, Dellwood Middle School
- 3rd Place: Jorai Laurenceo, Mount Saint Agnes
People’s Choice Art Winners:
- Primary: Leonardo Stoppa, Mount Saint Agnes
- Middle: Sienna Walters, Warwick Academy
- High School: Alyssa Almeida, Mount Saint Agnes
People’s Choice Digital Winners:
- Middle: Seri Fisher, Warwick Academy
“In addition to individual winners, the following schools received prizes for their students’ participation:
- Bermuda High School: $850
- Clara Mohammed School: $350
- Dellwood Middle School: $250
- Mount Saint Agnes: $2,250
- Purvis: $350
- Warwick Academy: $1,500
