[Updated] The Corporation of St. George’s invites the community to “savor an afternoon of culinary delight at the St. George’s Seafood Festival” this Sunday [Sept 15].
A spokesperson said, “Join us this Sunday, September 15th, at 12 noon on Ordnance Island in the historic Town of St. George for an event that celebrates the best of Bermuda’s seafood, offers a touch of history, and creates lasting family memories.”
Mayor Quinell Francis shared, “Our team has worked diligently for several months to craft a seaside festival atmosphere right here in St. George. We’ve engaged a variety of seafood vendors to deliver a fresh, tasty, and authentically Bermudian culinary experience, all set against the stunning backdrop of St. George’s Harbour. To ensure everyone can sample the full range of flavors, we’re offering a special tasting package.”
A spokesperson added, “This enhanced event, brought to you through a partnership between the Corporation of St. George’s and the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, also offers the convenience of advanced online ticketing for food and drinks, available at bermudachamber.bm/events.
Town Manager Candy-Lee Foggo expressed her excitement about the reimagined St. George’s Seafood Festival, saying, “We have introduced advance online ticketing for food and drinks, which will make it easier than ever to enjoy all the festival has to offer, while still providing free entry and parking for everyone.
“Our vendors will serve up delicious, traditional seafood from top local spots like St. David’s Seafood, Seaside Grill, and Munchies, to name a few. For those looking to elevate their experience, Mixyzbda mixologists will be on hand to craft enticing cocktails. There will be something for everyone, with returning family favorites like FoodHub’s Three Kings and Hot Dog Delight. We can’t wait to share this celebration with the town!”
A spokesperson added, “The festivities will kick off at 12 noon. Later, Mayor Francis will provide welcoming remarks. Throughout the afternoon, guests will enjoy live performances by local entertainers, including Tony Brannon, Shine Hayward, and DJ Chubb, who will keep the energy lively during this seaside event in our 400-year-old town. As a family-friendly event, parents can take advantage of the Fun Zone, which includes Fun Castles, Mini Golf, a Gaming Station, and more.
“Additionally, we offer an immersive experience: fishing off the dock and learning how to fillet and fry fresh fish. History enthusiasts can embark on a fun adventure by joining the Seafood Festival Scavenger Hunt, organized by Ms. Kristin White. Simply follow the link: https://pyts.link/p/VPLP to explore key locations in the UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can win prizes. Update Sept 12, 3.10pm: A spokesperson said, “The Corporation of St. George’s regrets to inform the public that the St. George’s Seafood Festival has been rescheduled to September 22 due to the forecast of inclement weather. We encourage everyone to join us on the new date, where attendees can enjoy all the planned festivities.”
Town Manager Candy-Lee Foggo said, “Our organizing team has met and enacted our contingency plan for inclement weather. Out of an abundance of caution and concern for public safety, we have moved the event to Sunday, September 22, 2024. As this is an outdoor event, the predicted forecast is not conducive to host this highly anticipated event.”

Here are a few things that i kno about mosquotoes more research required.
1) They hunt during early mornings and early evening and all through the night if they get in your house.

some that is the lady blood suckers ( so sorry iti s the girls ) are so desperate they will find you and attack regardless.
3) The will go for any party of your body with preferance to feet legs and hands.
4) They breed by laying their eggs in containers with water and Mother Nature takes care f the rest.
5 ) Who’s fault is it Sorry to say it is Humans …….. if the shoe fits !
6) Why humans ? you nice peple are to blame for leaving water collecting in containers every where , the rains do the rest .

8) How di they travel, some hitch a ride in a public bus , you car or a taxi other just wing it while other ride the bike in the riders clothing and have dinner during the ride .
9 ) Are the picky on who they attack ? you will do just fine .
They will bite though clothes as human sent atracks them . Not sure if they bite animals, don’t know , as i have to ask!
