Basketball: Kings & New Era Flyboys Win
The Bermuda Basketball Association league season commenced at the Berkeley Institute Gymnasium with a doubleheader that saw victories for the Kings and the New Era Flyboys.
In the first game, the Kings defeated the Chargers 64-43. Mykal Glasgow led the Kings with 24 points, while Darae Smith added 11. Yusef Te’jour Riley dominated the boards for the Kings, and Glasgow and Jason Lowe each had 2 assists. Steveland Brown-Darrell led the Chargers with 14 points. Kevin Stephens and Samuel Darrell both grabbed 7 rebounds, and Stephens and Jaren Haley each had 2 assists.
The second game saw the New Era Flyboys defeat Caesars the Answer 54-43. Jose Tapia led the Flyboys with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Akil Smith added 15 points and 3 assists. Denis Muli led Caesars the Answer with 15 points and 7 rebounds, while Jonathan Lugo added 13 points. Muli and Daniel Bryon each had 2 assists.
