Imani Phillips Wins Silver In Milwaukee Open
Imani Phillips secured a silver medal in the women’s singles 4.0 division at the Veolia Milwaukee Open held at the Baird Center.
Phillips advanced to the final by defeating Alexia Zatarain 15-13 in the semi-final. In the gold medal match, she faced J’ana Diamond. Phillips won the first set 11-8, but Diamond took the second set 11-7. Diamond ultimately won the match with an 11-4 victory in the third set tie-breaker.
Earlier in the tournament, Phillips competed in Pool 2, finishing with a 4-1 record. After losing her first match to Aliya Peterson 15-11, Phillips went on a winning streak. She defeated Ariana Ajani 15-8, Courtenay Casaccio 15-1, Toni Gardner 15-6, and Natalia Simson 15-11.
