  • Nh’Lae DeRoza [2023 recipient]: “I developed my adaptability skills as France was very different to what I am used to. I learned to embrace unfamiliar experiences and traditions, such as dealing with different situations that were outside of my comfort zone. Whether it was trying new foods, communicating in French, or participating in local traditions, each experience challenged me to be flexible and open-minded. This growth helped me immerse myself more in the culture and also gave me confidence in my ability to adapt to new environments in the future. ”
  • Satya Darrell [2022 recipient]: “This experience was eye-opening and amazing, allowing for deeper cultural understanding and appreciation.”
  • Maya Rajeh [2022 recipient]: It made me feel more open to living in Europe one day or taking my career abroad if the opportunity ever presented itself.”
  • Corrie Cross [2016 recipient]: “The scholarship was a pivotal moment in my academic and personal development.”
  • Yusef Bushara [2016 recipient]: “I’m on a trajectory now to work in literary translation with French being one of my languages. Without this scholarship, with no exaggeration, I would not be where I am now, doing what I am doing.”
