A Year of Giving – Bermuda Red Cross’s 75th Anniversary

The spokesperson said, “This special occasion is part of a larger milestone—the Bermuda Red Cross’s 75th anniversary of serving the community! As we reflect on our legacy of care and compassion, we invite the corporate community to take part in our Corporate Clothing Collection Initiative.

“Through this program, businesses can support the Thrift Shop by organizing clothing drives and encouraging their teams to donate gently used items. These contributions help sustain our programs and directly impact individuals and families across Bermuda.”

Ann Spencer-Arscott, Executive Director of the Bermuda Red Cross, adds: “Who knew when the decision to start up a Thrift Shop would have been so successful for us and still helping others in need. Maria and her team of volunteers are the lifeline of this service and we wouldn’t still be operating without them. Maria knows her customers well and has a great eye for fashion. A big thank you goes to the team.”

The spokesperson said, “How you can support

  • Donate gently used clothing and accessories for men and women, during our opening hours.
  • Businesses can host a clothing drive—just collect items in bags no larger than 13-gallon trash bags or grocery store packing bags and arrange a collection day.
  • Shop with us! We accept credit cards and cash [no cheques].

“Your support helps us continue our mission, ensuring affordable clothing for all and assisting those in need.

“Join us in celebrating 14 years of the Thrift Shop and 75 years of the Bermuda Red Cross by visiting the Thrist shop this week – Tuesday, Friday & Saturday!
