Tennis: Hollis Double Victory Helps Wheaton Win
The Wheaton College [Mass.] women’s tennis team, featuring a strong performance from Bermudian player Asia Hollis, achieved a decisive 6-1 victory over Salve Regina University in New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference [NEWMAC] competition.
Four Wheaton College players recorded double wins in the match, underscoring the team’s depth.
Hollis was among the double winners, making a significant contribution to Wheaton College’s success on the court.
In doubles play, Hollis partnered with Laila Haraj-Sai at the number two position. The duo secured a 6-2 victory against Salve Regina seniors Natalia Vega and sophomore Madigan Murphy, earning a crucial doubles point for Wheaton College.
Hollis continued her success in singles competition. Playing at number four singles, she defeated Vega in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Hollis’s singles victory secured the overall match win for Wheaton College.
