BEDC To Host Pitch Perfect Match On June 19
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] is inviting local entrepreneurs to participate in Pitch Perfect Match, taking place on Thursday [June 19] from 6.00pm to 8.30pm at the Newstead Resort.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda’s entrepreneurs are invited to take part in Pitch Perfect Match, an event the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] will host to help business owners improve their ability to pitch their business and expand their networks. The event will be held on Thursday, June 19th, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Newstead Resort.
“A ferry service will be available to transport attendees from Hamilton to Newstead Resort, departing Hamilton at 5:25 PM and returning from Newstead at 8:20 PM.
“There is a $25 attendance fee, which represents an investment in both the entrepreneur and their business. The fees collected will be pooled to create the $1,000 cash prize awarded to the Best Pitch of the Night, offering participants a chance for an immediate return on their investment. Attendees will also enjoy refreshments, a drink ticket, and appetizers, creating a relaxed setting to connect and network.
“Pitch Perfect Match gives entrepreneurs the chance to meet industry experts from fields such as legal, marketing, accounting, and more through a series of timed pitching sessions followed by feedback. Unlike typical pitch competitions, this event combines brief presentations with networking. The evening will end with a cash prize of $1,000 and the title of Best Pitch of the Night for the top presenter.
“Each participant will have two minutes per round — one minute to pitch and one minute to receive feedback. Entrepreneurs will deliver their pitches without visuals, props, or slides, focusing on clear verbal communication. A musical signal will mark the end of each round, indicating when to move to the next expert.
“During the one-minute pitch, entrepreneurs should introduce themselves and their business, explain their product or service, say whether the business is a concept or already operating [and for how long], describe the problem they are solving and their target customer, and mention any support they need or challenges they face.”
Ondreyah Rochester, MSME Officer at the BEDC, emphasized the importance of pitching and networking. She said, “Pitching your business is more than just sharing what you do. It’s about investing in yourself and your business by putting yourself out there, making connections, and learning to communicate your vision clearly. Events like Pitch Perfect Match help entrepreneurs build confidence, receive valuable feedback, and open doors to new opportunities. Networking and being willing to step forward are essential steps to growing a business.”
The spokesperson said, “Whether entrepreneurs are testing new ideas or working to grow existing businesses, Pitch Perfect Match offers a chance to gain exposure, improve pitches, and build connections. Spaces for pitching are limited, so interested participants are encouraged to register early.
“The event will take place on Thursday, June 19th, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Newstead Resort. The $25 attendance fee is an investment in your business and helps fund the $1,000 cash prize.
