Police Confirm Death Of Zende Butterfield
The police have confirmed the death of 19-year-old Zende Butterfield.
A police spokesperson said, “Sadly, the Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can now confirm Bermuda’s third road fatality of 2025, 19-year-old Zende Butterfield, and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
“The teen motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision involving a car and two other motorcycles in the North Shore Road, Church Lane Pembroke area, around 9:25pm Tuesday, 10th June, 2025.
“Mr. Butterfield was found unresponsive and despite lifesaving efforts at the collision site, which continued as he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, he was admitted into the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in critical condition and later pronounced dead on Thursday, 12th June, 2025.
“At that time [12th June, 2025], a BPS press release highlighted that this was the third fatal collision of the year and that the two other motorcycle riders, plus a passenger on one of those motorcycles, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
“In addition, the male car driver and female car passenger involved, were not hurt.
“The investigation continues regarding this fatal collision and any witnesses that have not already come forward, or persons with additional relevant information, are now encouraged to call Roads Policing Unit Constable Walter Jackson on 247-1788, or e-mail wjackson@bps.bm.
“Tragically, there have been four people killed in collisions on Bermuda’s roads, so far this year.”
