Rainbows, Brownies Donate To Rotary Club
The First Devonshire/First Smith’s Rainbow and Brownie unit recently presented a $1,000 donation to the Hamilton Rotary Club “to assist visually impaired members of Inspire Bermuda to receive needed educational training abroad.”
A spokesperson said, “Julie Allen, Guider at First Devonshire/First Smith’s Rainbow and Brownie unit, presented $1,000 to Beverly Daniels, Youth Director of Hamilton Rotary Club. The funds will be used to assist visually impaired members of Inspire Bermuda to receive needed educational training abroad.
“This is part of an intergenerational partnership initiative to immerse the Rainbows and Brownies in service projects with charities on the island. They have been partnering with Lions Clubs by selling tags and Keep Bermuda Beautiful by participating in coastal cleanups.
“The funds were raised in an online eco hat auction where the girls designed hats from fallen foliage, twigs, tree bark, and flora from the environment. Badges were given for hat design.”
