Bermuda Squash Teams Claim Wins In Guyana
Bermuda’s men’s and women’s teams secured wins at the Caribbean Area Squash Association’s Senior Championships in Guyana yesterday [November 27].
The men’s team defeated Jamaica 11-6, with Micah Franklin beating Jonathan Walker 11-5, 13-11, 11-3.
Taylor Carrick also enjoyed a straight-sets victory, defeating Ashante Smith 11-9, 11-7, 11-6.
Noah Browne secured a win over Dane Schwier 11-6, 11-4, 11-5.
Despite losses from Anaya Smith to Adam Ardito and D’vario Thompson to Tobias Levy, the early wins were enough to seal the tie for Bermuda.
Meanwhile, the women’s team defeated Trinidad and Tobago 9-2, despite only fielding three players in the competition.
Melina Turk beat Marie-Claire Barcant 11-8, 11-7, 11-9.
Alex Furtado defeated Catherine de Gannes-Martin 11-4, 11-3, 11-2.
Abigail Brewer beat Kimberley Farah 11-4, 11-3, 9-11, 6-11, 11-7.
