Video: Father-Daughter Film In Ireland
A Bermudian father and daughter have collaborated on a music video for Irish musician Keith Grace, filming the project on Dalkey Island, south of Dublin.
Mohamed Hamza and his 13-year-old daughter, Isabelle Hamza, worked together on the video for Grace’s song Waves.
The three-day shoot took place in July, with the video released last month.
Isabelle, a former Bermuda High School student who now attends Loretto College in Dalkey, served as production assistant and director of photography.
Her father acted as producer and editor.
“She took on the role of director of photography, carried equipment, organised the shoot, and helped bring the vision to life,” Mohamed told Bernews.
Mohamed said the project also featured a distinct Bermudian link.
“When we scouted locations, Isabelle immediately pointed out that the Martello Tower overlooking the water in Dalkey looks almost identical to the Martello Tower at Ferry Reach back home in Bermuda,” said Mohamed, who befriended Mr Grace six years ago.
“That connection is actually visible in the video itself, and it gave the whole project a sense of home for her.”
Mohamed said the release forms part of a personal initiative tied to his daughter’s birthday aimed at encouraging longer attention spans.
“The video is being released [last month] as part of what I’m calling “The Four-Minute Challenge,” created in honour of Isabelle’s thirteenth birthday – encouraging people to pause, stretch their attention, and take in four minutes of intentional, heartfelt storytelling,” he added.
