Maxanne Caines Elected Residents’ Councillor
Nomination Day for the extraordinary municipal election to fill the position of Residents’ Councillor for the Corporation of Hamilton concluded with Maxanne Javita Caines declared elected unopposed.
A Government spokesperson said, “Nomination Day for the extraordinary municipal election to fill the position of Residents’ Councillor for the Corporation of Hamilton was held today, Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
“At the close of nominations, the election was declared uncontested, and Maxanne Javita Caines was duly declared elected to the position of Residents’ Councillor.
“In accordance with the Parliamentary Election Act 1978, as read with the Municipalities [Election] Order 2015, no poll will be required.
“For further information, please contact the Parliamentary Registry.”
She will eventually be the best candidate to be the City of Hamilton’s fist female Mayor. She has good mentors, is bright,keen and a visionary. The bright people of St.Georges led the way years ago when they appointed Lois Perinchief as Mayor.
